the secret's basically out anyway...

i used to never admit this to anyone. but now most of you who know me know this anyway, oddly enough, so i might as well take the next step and put it on the internet.

here goes

when i read books written by british authors... i catch myself reading them out loud. in a bad british accent.

there i said it.

i don't think i feel better.

i hope you don't either.

It really could be worse. Last time I was in London I came back with a British accent. It was pretty good when I got home but deteriorated over a week and just got worse until it completely disappeared, leaving me stuck with my Pacific Northwest accent.
A worse accent comes back whenever I've binge watched British comedy as well.

I don't get an accent from British books but I recently started reading Jane Austen and now I can't help using archaic words like "felicity" and phrases like "in all its particulars".
