Happy birthday to me, and also I'll see you in like a month or two

Yesterday was my birthday.

In honor of my birthday I got an oil change. This was also in honor of my upcoming replacement transmission. I don’t want them to have any way to weasel out of the warranty. Transmissions are expensive.

Also in honor of my birthday I did not go to work. This was mostly because the movers told me I had to be at home from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in case they decided to drop by. They said if they did decide to drop by and I wasn’t there they would charge me lots of money.

As it turned out, I was their first stop, so they were gone by 9:30 a.m., just in time to get me out of formation, but not in time to prevent me from having to wear a uniform. Then I had to wear one again today, so I could attend a two-hour briefing with a two-star general. If you’ve never been to a briefing with a lot of military officers, I would advise you to continue not going to them.

Um … that’s mostly it.

Tomorrow’s my last day at work, so you won’t be hearing from me until I find a computer. It’s also going to throw a wrench into the whole book-writing thing. Writing it by hand goes considerably slower. So you know, I’ll talk to you all soon.

In the meantime, everybody be cool.

Happy birthday!

"In the meantime, everybody be cool."

I'll take your words to heart *smile*. Oh... what's your book about? I think you mentioned it in a prior post but I can't remember.

Can't say, it's bad luck!

It's fiction. Has a very faint narnia-esque tone to it, except that I am not even close to being the caliber of writer that C.S. Lewis was. It's fun, though.

Sounds nifty. Will you post it when your done or will you try to get it published?

"It's fun, though."
As it should be. May your writing always be fun and and not seem like work.

I'll drink to that!
I'll probably try and get it published. A bit too long to post. Besides I've been meaning to write a book for years. I'm glad the time has finally come.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but don't you think six identical comments is a bit excessive? :)

Happy Birthday!

I hope you find a computer soon because I'll miss your daily, or at least semi daily commentary.

As for the book, I wish you the best of luck. I've tried to write books before (for my personal benefit not for publication) but I never got past the 100 page mark. My problem with writing is attention span. When I write I inevitably come up with cool plot changes that necessitate starting over again and after a few cycles of this I lose interest and start a whole new literary project.

Wow... I did not mean to post multiple times. I looked at some other blogs and it's the same. Me (and sometimes others) double-posting. As soon as the blogger servers settle down I'll go and delete the extra posts.

At least your now at your customary posts though.

*smile*

Good question. I am in a medical hold status right now.
My "job" I really just do on a volunteer basis so I won't have to watch "Maury" reruns all day. But now they're hiring a new person and she needs my desk. So for the next month or so I just kind of hang out and go to the occasional formation or room inspection or something.

Well, enjoy a month of Maury then... =D

Happy Belated Birthday.

I'm just running around the web right now, screaming my head off to blow some steam while I wait for my project to finish (God willing) before the school closes.

Well since you aren't going to post for a while...we could spam this post like we do to Anna, but that would get annoyingly funny to all parties involved.

I am good with annoyingly funny!

Hmmm... there has to be more than one or two comments to get to annoyingly funny... should be more like 40 or 100... /shrug

I am doing my part tho! =D

Hmmm...annoying, maybe. Funny? not so much.
I'll be back very soon...

Good to see that you have access to the Internet again.

Sooo.... ummm.... what's wrong with "annoying?"

=D

I'm guessing that it depends on the degree of annoyingness (I guess it's a word). Annoying like running out of milk for your cereal or annoying like your car breaking down on the way to work? Or annoying like when someone takes a post and drives a conversation completely off topic.
In other news...my campeign to get elected as the new pope never got very far, and obviously I'm not the new pope. Better luck in 2012 I guess.

Don't you have to be a member of the Catholic church to be elligble?

I'd join if they elected me pope maybe...

There hasn't been a comment on here for awhile so I thought I'd add one just to let you know I'm still checking for updates.
